Anyone has any clue about when the computerized version of the part 1 would start being administered? They have already mentioned about the computerized version on the ada website. but when I called nbde to request an application they said that the computerized version has not been started.
Thanks

Yes it is the same info Gavin.
I tried calling nbde and they told me that they plan on starting the computerized version of part 1 from january 2004.
I also wrote an e-mail to ada and am waiting to hear from them.
Meanwhile anyone have any info regarding that please do post.
Thanks

So from what I understand:

? Part I written can be taken on July 12 of 2004 (the only date I'm concerned with), and scores are given back in ~8 weeks.

? Part I compuerized can be taken ANY date, scores are given back in 3 weeks, but it costs $100 more to register for.

Sounds like I'm going to take the computerized version, that $100 difference is something I would pay to get my scores earlier anyway. With the computerized exam, the ADA promises you get your scores twice as quickly as with the written exam.

But still, like the OP, when I click on the computerized application link, I get nothing.

Why is it that with the DAT you can get your score on the spot yet with the Part Ones you have to wait? Aren't they both curved?

OFFICIAL WORD FROM ADA: I spoke with them on three different occasions yesterday, and was told that the NBDE I will be administered in computerized format beginning the last week of January/first week of February. So, about two months from now.

I didn't ask them when applications would become available, since I'm not taking it until July.

Sounds like apps. should be available soon, I'd say within 2-3 weeks.

I don't know the reasoning behind that, but I DO know that I'm anxious to get my scores twice as quickly with the computerized version. Heck, 2-3 weeks beats 6-7 weeks!

I meant since they're both administered (or soon will be), there should be an answer key available. At least the raw score should be known. Oh well.

The scoring of the Boards (at least Part I) is far more complex than the DAT scoring system.

Besides, knowing raw scores just doesn't make a testee feel too good. I mean, getting a 68/100 doesn't make me feel too good. Of course, that would give you a ~90 on some NBDE sections.

I do see your point, though.
