ADEA Q3 Advocacy Insights Digital Event: Understanding the Impact of the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” on Student Financial Aid

Date: Thursday, August 7 at 1:00 p.m. E.T.

ADEA’s Advocacy and Government Relations and Educational Technology teams are pleased to present an Advocacy Insights webinar focused on the recently signed “One Big Beautiful Bill Act.” This significant legislation introduces major changes to federal student loan programs, with wide-reaching implications for higher education generally and graduate oral health education specifically.

The webinar will examine how the bill reshapes student loan repayment and borrowing and affects institutional finances. Expert speakers will provide insights and analysis on the real-world implications of these changes.

Join us for a timely discussion on how this sweeping new law could affect the future of oral health education.

Speaker:
  • Mr. Jon Fansmith, Senior Vice President, Government Relations and National Engagement for the American Council on Education
Learning Objectives:
  1. Understand the key provisions of the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” Public Law 119-21, related to federal student financial aid.
  2. Analyze how changes in student loan and repayment policies may impact students, educational institutions and access to care.
  3. Evaluate the potential implications of the legislation for oral health education.

Please register to attend!

It just got posted. I was a bit disappointed. They didn't talk about what students will do to afford dental school, what dental schools will do in light of the bill, what the future of dentistry looks like now that student limits take place, etc. I guess we won't fully know the impact of the bill for the next couple of years I'd imagine. Sadly, I see pre-dents are still applying to NYU and USC this cycle...

The session was recorded on August 7th. I don't think there is an option to ask questions after the fact. TBH, they probably don't even know what the answers are.

Ahhhh, I don't think any of the applicants even know yet. Schools will probably give them information during interviews. I'd be surprised if the pre-dents, whose entire identity has been getting into dental school, are even capable of fathoming dental school being too expensive to attend.
