hi everybody,
I have a doubt and would like it if you guys could help me out.Is there a limit to the number of exams be it computerized or written that you could take in a year? Is the dental decks and question banks sufficient enough to prepare?Please help me out here.Take care.. 😕

yes there s a limit . say for example if u dont pass for some reason you can not repeadt the eam before 90 days.go on www.ada.org and see the link for nbde part 1 it says in there and also says for example if u dont pass 1 part say micro patho u dont have to redo the whole just redo micro patho.

i agree with anjali,
u cannnot re take the exam before 90 days are over .
dental decks and papera re good guidlines to follow... but refer to text books on topics u arnt sure about ....

thanks anjali 45. I also wanted to know whether if i wrote the computerized exam in september could i write the written test in december of the same year? Thanks again 4 ur help.

hello yes u could take it in sept say 15 sept and if need be u could repest it in dec but u could not technically take it only on 15 dec.as that is when 90 days r over. thanks bye

Sorry to bother u like this but what are your suggestions on whether computerized exam is easier than the written one. one more thing, since i'm redoing my exam, do i have to resend my general report from the ECE to the joint commission on national dental examinations or is what I had already send for my previous exam sufficient enough? My report is only one year old. Please do help me if you can.

all of us have doubts..my doubts are worse thn yours..i wonder sometimes..what happens if my computer gets shut down..or my brain gets shut down..
from the day i started studying more than reading wht i have to..its just doubts and unwanted fear thats on my head..so dont worry lisa..and all the best for your exam.

you had said in one of the threads that PBT is based on overall performance of that day....so dont you think we will score better in paper based as there would be higher number of students apperaing on that day.
i want to book for the PBT based on what your gonna say.

all of us have doubts..my doubts are worse thn yours..i wonder sometimes..what happens if my computer gets shut down..or my brain gets shut down..
from the day i started studying more than reading wht i have to..its just doubts and unwanted fear thats on my head..so dont worry lisa..and all the best for your exam.

i guess thats why PBT is supposed to be better.. but the onlt diadv is the scores take forever to come....
adv with CBT is u can give the exam whenever u feel ureready.. in case u think ure not... u can postpone it..

having given the exam twise.. i personally felt there were no repeats...

anyway bottom line is if u know ure stuff.. it amkes no diff what the curve will be....

Can you help me out with one more thing. I'm retaking my exam this september. The last time i took it was in july of 2004. Can you tell me whether I'm supposed to resend my general report to the Joint Commission on national dental examinations or do they still have a copy of my report since it will be only about a year old? 😕

think they should be having it..better to call tehm and confirm

You could send a copy of the evaluation report wen you request an application.
