COMSAE practice tests
Started by Medicineman20
I am planning on taking COMLEX CE on August 23rd. I was wondering which COMSAE test (forms 1,2,3) actually approximate what your score will be on the real thing.
thanks
I took COMSAE 1 and 2 and had basically the same score. Still waiting for my COMLEX score but hopefully they'll come soon.
Comsae B = Over 700
Comsae C = 660
Real Deal = 613
I would definitely say that comsae C was much more comparable with the type of nonsense questions. After taking it I wasn't even sure where to look up the answers because they were so vague.
I will say that I felt I made a few more simple mistakes on the real one vs. the comsae C though.

I agree that comsae C is the closet to the real thing. Comsae B was the questions you expect to have and had terrible discriminators.
Thanks. Taking Step II Thursday and wanted to know if one of the comsaes was a comparison. This helps. A question though, do forms A,B,C correlate to 1,2,3?
anyone else have experience with which comsae is the best. does it accurately predict your score?

Bump, I was wondering the same thing?
Comsae C: 777
Comlex II: 785
Comlex II: 785
COMSAE C: 681 (the night before the exam)
COMLEX 2CE: 150
Actually, I haven't gotten my score back yet. I just took the test last Thursday. But it felt like an ass-kicking from start to finish. Goal was 650+

Any last minute recommendations for those of us who haven't taken it yet?

Keep all sharp or dangerous objects out of reach during the exam, so that you don't stab anyone, including yourself.
Other than that, I have no real, viable advice. Its just like level 1, but with different material.
Was the actual COMLEX comparable in vagueness and crappy questions like COMBANK and COMQUEST for Level 2? I'm average 66%, half done... blah!

I took the test yesterday. The questions werent necessarily as vague as i expected. The material tested was just stuff that you would never be expected to know. You could do UWORLD, COMQUEST, COMBANK, secrets, step up, FA, boards and wards and whatever else and you would never come across alot of the material that was on this test. The good thing is nobody else probably knows the answer anyway. Unless you are an OMT fellow you probably didnt know most of the stuff on this test.
Wow. You mean like random laws, child seat questions, stuff like that? What was so bad about OMM?

Just random OMT not like the standard naming somatic dysfunctions, sacrum, innominate, ribs, facilitated segments, cranial, etc. It seems like they tried to tie OMT in clinically but didnt really do a good job. Ironically, the rest of the test was less clinical and more step I type stuff than expected. The only advice i can give you is that i found the questions to be much much longer in some sections than standard COMLEX, COMSAE, COMBANK, and COMQUEST questions. Looks like they are trying to experiment with USMLE like questions. Of course the questions were still vague.
One thing I noticed about mine, and this was actually true of my comlex level 1 last year too, is that if something could go wrong with the anus, I had a question about it. I truly believe you could pass this exam by studying nothing but rectal pathology and omm.

I didnt have any anal pathology. I know anus i could deal with that. Im jealous. What makes me mad is all the random stuff that no med student is supposed to know. I dont know how to decide which insurance companies are the best ones or if fat little timmy needs a booster seat or not.(not real questions just the type of stuff thats on there).
