Im an IMG doing a prelim surgery resident 2014-15. I didn't want to pursue surgery so I applied for anesthesia. I matched to an advanced position starting in 2016. I spoke with the program and they said my prelim 2014-15 year will fulfill the PGY-1 requirement. I will be completing the preliminary year.
The reason I'm posting this is because I have not performed well and have received stinging evaluations. my competency evaluation is also lower than my peers. In short I am scared that my anesthesia program will waive my match on the grounds of a poor preliminary performance. I was wondering if any on sdn was in a similar situation and if they had to go through the experience of a program request a waiver from nrmp.
Thanks
