Psychiatrist coming over for a question.

Is there a concierge model for OBGYN? Or models to have a more patient focused experience (mostly just saying from a customer service side of things). In psychiatry we have a large portion of cash pay psychiatrists, or concierge PCP. Anything equivalent for OB?

Not AFAIK

Most people who would benefit from OB care are not in the place to spend that kind of money nor would it be a better option than basic insurance.

The concierge model is geared towards those with multiple medical concerns and the finances to freely spend on it.

Yes.

They are more common in Southern California and NYC since they can support this type of model but not that common in general.

The problem is if you do obstetrics that means being available to deliver patients 24 hours a day like in the old days.

That was feasible 40 years ago when OBs could make $700k to a million in private practice but not today.

There is a few practices that I am aware of that focus more on the customer service side.

Asktia.com

But the people who actually render care look to be some nurse practitioners or midwives. So basically useless unless something extremely basic.

But they have a slick website and slick marketing to fool patients.
