Conferences in the SE from August to November

Hey all,

I'm going to be in Kentucky for one of my 4th year rotations around August to November and wondered if there were any good Optometry conferences going on in nearby states during that time period that members knew of.

You would seriously rather comment on the same old threads about why optometry sucks or why commercial sucks or why the pay sucks for the effort you put in and you get no respect? or alternatively why optometry rules why commercial is awesome etc etc.... wash rinse repeat.

rather than commenting in another pointless and redundant thread that will go nowhere and solve nothing come over here and give a constructive comment that might actually benefit someone. It's what all the cool docs are doing. 👍

Thanks xmatt, Looks like nothing major is going on during those dates according to the arbo link, but if anyone knows smaller local meetings that are going on I would love to know about them. laters 👍

There is no single source that lists all CE opportunities. ARBO, ads in the trade magazines are good places to start.

In general Aug/Sept is sparce because that's the busy season for most OD's. October has several big meetings. East-West in Cleveland is a pretty big one.

(A site with more practicing OD's like ODWire or OptCom will give you more responses than a student site though)

American Academy of Optometry is in Orlando FL this year. It's November 11-14, 2009. IMO, AAO is the best education conference in optometry. There is no charge for student registration and there are scholarships for travel and lodging, if you apply for them.
