I am sure that most of us are looking at our scores thinking we are not going to get in anywhere. To make us all feel better please post people that you know of that got in with low scores. Good Luck everyone😀

I knew this kid last year (couldn't believe it!) that got in with a 15 AA!!! His highest score was his RC which was an 18. He scored a 12 on QR, 16 Bio, 16, GChem, and 14 on OChem, PAT was a 20. And no, he didn't have good grades either; GPA-3.1 sGPA-2.95!! I really have no idea how he got in but he did, go figure! Maybe he just wrote a REEAAALLLY good PC's?🙄 Anyway...

PPSSSSYYYYYYCCCCCHHH!!!! 😆 Sorry but I love to pull pranks, hehehe! :meanie:

Keep your hopes up. It looks like the insane scores of last year are not as common this cycle. I know people who took the DAT this yr and last yr and claim that it got harder. If this is true, don't fret about the 18's and 19's so much. Just keep your head up and fight. If your stats are borderline.....let the dental schools know that you really want to go. Write to them, meet with them and call them. I know plenty of people who pushed and pushed until they got in.

Accepted to 5 schools - 3.25 Cum GPA (after Post Bacc that didn't figure into my initial AADSAS GPA of 3.15), science GPA of 3.15 (after Post Bacc that didn't figure into my initial AADSAS GPA of 3.05). Some schools offers were made after the new transcript was sent in while 2 weren't.

DAT: 23 Bio, 23 Chem, 18 Ochem, 21 RC, 17 QR, 20 PAT

The people that want it the most will get it. The only way you'll know you really want it is by having OUTSIDE experience. You can fake your shadowing hours, your volunteering hours, etc...but you can't fake drive. 1st ask if you really want it - it took me 2.5 years to answer this after screwing around with many different jobs.

I shadowed for an orthodontist who started dental school with a 14 AA and a 2.9 science GPA (after taking classes at a community college following college graduation to boost his GPA)! He went to Alabama, but he said he pretty much studied every minute during dental school and wound up #2 in his class.

Getting into dental school cycles between easy and difficult...unfortunately, right now it is very difficult....
