A lot of your posts come across as one-upsmanship. Like you had it way worse because of this, and you're too good for the Army. Maybe that's not what you're intending, but it's coming across that way.
No, I was young and stupid and joined because "being a cop sounds like a cool job! And I can't be a civilian cop until I'm 21!"

Admittedly I was quite stupid. The navy offered me a position doing something related to nuclear science due to my asvab score, but I still went army. Probably would've helped me out much more had I accepted that position.

Unfortunately many people, two kids in my research lab literally want an MD just to not fall short of another family member/sibling. One of them will probably make it because they work hard regardless but the other I feel like is gonna fall short from what I've seen so far since all they can think about is the prestige and just wanna take whatever shortcuts they can to get there.

Moral of story not to pick a career based on prestige. In general I always looked as dentistry and medicine being fairly equal in regards to prestige.

Its good to have a job that you are proud of, but prestige has to do what others think. Who cares what others think? I want to know I'm the best. I don't care what others think. I mean being an actor is prestigious and I have a very poor opinion of most of them and would never want to do that as a career.

Another thing is with dentistry is I have the possibility of making 150K per year after dental school but with medicine I would have to do a residency depending on what I go into that would probably be 3-5 years in length with pay of 50K per year so all that could impact what kind of lifestyle I can have straight after dental school and medical school. But after residency that should change.

Pretty much comes down to if you would be interested in dental. I want to like dental more than I do. I would love the business aspect of it, and be able to practice sooner. However, I'm not passionate about going to school and learning it. I'm excited just to go to medical school and learn the info.
