I hope you're all enjoying the weekend.

I'm posting here because I am pretty confused about how to study for Step 2CK. Basically I have 5 or 6 weeks to study. I've heard that is too much time, but I really want to kill this test.

Everyone talks so much about how to study for Step 1 (FA, Goljan, Kaplan, etc), but no one ever talks about how to do well on Step 2CK. I just got off the phone with Kaplan and apparently the only courses they have are like $4,000 and 6 weeks long, so I can't do that (probably designed for FMGs anyway).....

Any advice at all would be very much appreciated.

How did you do on your shelf exams? If you did fairly well, you shouldn't need much preparation for CK. Realize too that you've been applying your studies to real-world situations for the past year, which makes retention of information that much easier compared to Step 1.

Are you using a question bank yet? That and FA were all I reviewed starting just after finishing third year while taking a fairly easy elective. In that way, I had ample time in the afternoons and evenings to study, I avoided using precious vacation time, and I was still geared up from studying for shelf exams to put in the effort.

I absolutely destroyed 2CK by doing UWorld only. I also pulled out my self-made study materials from my Shelf exams.

You probably don't need FA. Crush Step 2 is pretty popular and definitely as high density and just as high yield as FA.

Take one of those NBME practice tests to see how you do and gauge how much more you need to study.
