Confused about NBDE Scoring

Am taking the NBDE Part 1 in about 2 - 3 weeks from now.I got a couple of questions and I hope someone can help me with that
I would like to know what kind of scoring do you get when u give your Part 1 ? Is it percentage or percentile? If it is percentile what average marks do u require in each paper ?What is the average required to get into Dental Schools like UPenn and Goldman(Boston) ? What does a Pass in Part 1 mean ?
And wish me luck too.

Please refer to 'Candidates Guide' for Part I NBDE published by ADA. You can call ADA(1-800-232-1694) and ask for a copy. You can also talk to scoring department of National Testing Service (same tel no.).

Hi...part 1..percentile scoring is done not percentage.so it depends on how well u do and how well ppl who have taken the exam before and along with u have done.
We cannot determine how much avg marks one shuld get to get a good score.
Each paper is different and do not base ur marks on score conversion of old exams.
The competition is high and everyone is doing well..so aim for the maximum and u will do well.
I think Upenn looks at the whole package(part 1,gpa,work experience after graduation abroad and in US, research work if any,part 2 if u have taken it and toefl) rather than only part 1 marks.
Boston places a lot of emphasis on part 1 score.So I think ur score to get into BU should be 90+.
I think a pass in part 1 is 75.
And try to apply as early as possible.
