Hey, I am graduating this spring from a UC(university of california riverside) woth a degree in bio. I have about a 3.2 gpa and a 30 on my mcat. I didn't even bother applying to med schools thinking I wouldn't get in any where. I've been researching post-bacprograms. I think I want to attend a program like Finch(rosalind franklin), drexel or georgetown. I see a lot of info and advice about the gtown and drexel programs but not much about the finch program and was wondering why that was. From what I see, it's me best bet if I wanna go to med school there after my first year....seems like if you get a 3.0 you are almost guaranteed admission. Please give me any advice and info.....especially about the finch program.Thank you very much

From the score that you gave, you have a really good chance at getting into med school. If your mcat is high they probably won't weigh the gpa that much, and your gpa is not bad. I think that if you really want to go to a post-bac do not do a long one, and choose one that will allow you to take classes to boost your gpa. You obviously do not need mcat prep. Also, at the Post-bac that I attend they say its a good idea to speak to people in admissions at your medical school of interest before weeding yourself out of the process. So if there are schools in Cali that you are interested in, I would suggest calling them up, making an appointment to speak with someone who can assess your file a lot better than you or I can, and even try to speak to students who go there. You seem like a great candidate. Hope this helps.

you sound suspiciously like a banned troll that came around these parts awhile back, named "youngman". Similar name, same anti-postbacc, pro-caribbean mentality. Hmmmm....
