As I understand it, Public Health programs are usually broken down into a couple concentrations such as Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Environmental Health, Behavorial Sciences/Health Education, etc...

But at Stony Brook they have 3 concentrations: Community Health, Evaluative Sciences, and Public Health Practice.

I would understand if they weren't accredited but they are CEPH accredited. I'm confused as to why they set it up this way. Hofstra University has the traditional setup of concentrations yet they aren't accredited.

Are they accredited as a school of public health or just a public health program? My school has an MPH in Urban Health that is CEPH accredited as a program, but since we only offer that and not the traditional 5 concentrations, we don't qualify as a school!

it's just a program, not a school, so it just has less offerings, that's all. not much else to it. so if you're interested in any of those, that would be some place to apply to
