I have been doing more research into my decision to start preparing for medical school but I am somewhat confused and was wondering if anyone can point me to the right direction. I am currently a practising pharmacist who has done two years of pre pharmacy and four years of pharmacy school. It seems that the medical schools I am interested in require atleast 90 credit hours of undergrad courses of which I only have slightly above half. I am looking into post bacc programs but they seem to repeat alot of the courses I already have done ( gen chem, gen bio, orgo etc). I was thinking that a better use of time and money would be to just take some science based classes from a state or community college to make up the remaining credits and be able to use those classes for a better grip on mcats study as well (eg taking genetics, anatomy ). Is this something acceptable ? I dont even know if colleges would allow me to just take random classes but I was just wondering if this is something that can be done.

Do you have your undergraduate degree already? Which of the prerequisites have you completed? What state do you live in?

I live in texas. I did not need an undergraduate to go to pharmacy school so i just had two years of undergrad (pre pharmacy). I have completed Gen chem I and II , organic I and II, Gen Bio I & II, Calc I, English. Have not done physics so i need to complete that.

Give the med school you're interested in a call and talk to someone there about your specific situation.

You have a degree. You're a pharmacist. Don't worry about the bachelors degree. I agree with the above poster who suggested contacting the med school you're most interested in.
