I have been doing more research into my decision to start preparing for medical school but I am somewhat confused and was wondering if anyone can point me to the right direction. I am currently a practising pharmacist who has done two years of pre pharmacy and four years of pharmacy school. It seems that the medical schools I am interested in require atleast 90 credit hours of undergrad courses of which I only have slightly above half. I am looking into post bacc programs but they seem to repeat alot of the courses I already have done ( gen chem, gen bio, orgo etc). I was thinking that a better use of time and money would be to just take some science based classes from a state or community college to make up the remaining credits and be able to use those classes for a better grip on mcats study as well (eg taking genetics, anatomy ). Is this something acceptable ? I dont even know if colleges would allow me to just take random classes but I was just wondering if this is something that can be done.
