Hello! New to this forum but I applied 24/25 cycle, got waitlisted at 3 schools (one of which is Cinci). I have a poor science gpa which was definitely the problem with my application. I'm 2 years out from undergrad and planning on doing an SMP. Got accepted into the SMPs at Cincinnati, Tufts, and Boston University. Pending on Georgetown. Since I'm still on Cincinnati's MD WL, my folks suggest continuing showing interest by accepting the Cincinnati SMP offer. I am unsure if there is any actual correlation here or not? I, however, am wondering which SMP sets people up the most for success in medical school (advisors, planning, resources), if I should select the school whose med school I'd most want to attend based on med school metrics (all programs have interview-linkage based on how well you perform) and of course the financial aid aspect of each program (which I understand you all can't help with). I know attending one SMP does not mean I must attend that school, yet I still want to set myself up as best as possible for success later on.

I truly appreciate the help in advance if any SMP alumns can speak on their program experiences. I'm ready for them all to be academically rigorous programs since it's taking M1 classes for a grade.

Welcome to the forums.

We also do have a forum on postbac programs where you can see a lot of peoples' thoughts about their decisions to attend an SMP or other postbac program. It is otherwise hard to give advice in a vacuum, and everyone will have different experiences with SMP's as each has different expectations and goals. But the three C's still matter: cost, community, and curriculum. Linkage and conditions for an interview are also very important, as you have already mentioned.
