Hey folks, I am a first time AMCAS applicant and need advice on what to do about this dilemma.

My school can only send out my final transcript on May 29 (which is kind of late for AMCAS apps, correct?). I can send my current transcript now, but it will NOT have my Spring semester grades.

I know the importance of applying early, but I also would like them to see my entire transcript. I am confused on what to do. The spring semester grades do NOT contain any prereqs and do NOT influence my GPA at all. This makes me think I should just submit my transcript without them. What do you all think? Will I be looked down upon for doing this?

Also, if I do submit without my spring grades, will I have to send my updated transcript to each individual school afterwords? If so, when should I do this?

Stats: 3.95 GPA, 30 MCAT, Canadian applicant.

Any help is appreciated 🙂 Thanks in advance!

May 29 is not late... The earliest day of submission is June 4. Yes you want to send in your spring grades.

May 29 is when my school would send them out. They would get to AMCAS later, I don't know how late though, thats sort of unpredictable I guess. Then once AMCAS gets it, they have to tell me that they've received it, and only then can I start to get verified. I feel like by then, it will be long past June 4. Maybe June 20th?

June 20 is still extremely early. You'll be verified in early to mid July and you'll still be in the first batch of interviews if you turn around your secondaries in a reasonable amount of time.

Let's say I'm verified on July 15. When should I submit my secondaries to be in the first batch of interviews?

You'll be fine if you are verified by Jul 15th. Many secondaries came out early to mid July last year. With a quick turnaround, you'll be in the first batch considered for interviews.

AMCAS is not even released to schools until around June 24 (not sure of the exact date this year), so if you're verified 2-3 weeks after that, you are still very early. The people who submit on day 1 and are verified on day 2 still have to wait until June 24 for schools to see their information, so it's not like it's some huge advantage to submit at the earliest possible second.
