So I need you guy's 2 cents , I had an interview this Monday and I thought it went great but at the end the interviewer said" after you are done with all your interviews , let us know if we are your top choice" I have a bad feeling about this since Im a Texas resident and during the interview , he mentioned his son who just graduated from Baylor and " Texans Love their schools" and I just nervously laughed and was like why are we talking about Texas schools now?! what do you guys think?

The interviewer was probably confident you'd get a texas acceptance. Doesn't mean they'll reject you for it.

That's what I was afraid of ! and the funny thing is I only have 1 Texas interview!

You're still luckier than me. I'm a Texas residence and I haven't heard from any schools 🙁. I have 3 interviews from out of state coming up, but I'm ashamed of myself not getting even one from in state. Congrats to all your interviews and best of luck to you!

I would also guess that because of the low cost of the Texas schools, an acceptance there would trump anywhere else.

Any weaknesses you can think of? Did you do all three essays? Community service? Shadowing? Idk you seem to have good academic stats from what you said on the TMDSAS thread. Just hang in there, you still have pre dec chances from all three Texas schools.

The only think I can think of is I am a non traditional student. I graduated from UH a few years ago and recently took couple science classes from CC to fulfill perquisites of other schools. I think Texas schools prefer students who recently graduated or are still taking classes. I have decent shadowing hours (about 100), volunteered at local hospital (non- dental related for 100 hrs), and almost 200 hrs at a non-profit dental clinic (but the time I submitted my application, I just started there). Thank you for your encouragement and kindness. I'll just try to do my best on incoming interviews and hopefully I can get in one. Wish you luck and hope you will get in your number one choice of school 🙂

Thanks man I'll keep you in my thoughts. I know, this process can be painful and discouraging but if you think about it, the application just closed a couple weeks ago. If not pre December there is plenty of chance for post in Texas. good luck on your other interviews, hope you get in somewhere!

Our stats are pretty much the same. All Texas schools interview up until February(?) so no need to panic until mid November if we'd hope to be receiving a pre-December interview and January if we hope to get in at all. :bag:

Go Coogs!

Aww, we went to the same school 🙂. Yes, I hope things will turn out good for all of us and we will hear some great news in the near future. Right now I'm just happy that I have some interviews coming up and I only need one acceptance.
