Confused between UOP and UCSF

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Here are some of the highlights of UCSF. You should weigh this aginst Univ. of Pacific and see which one looks better for you.
You may already know this but if you don't here they are

UCSF:

Among Cali. dental schools, UCSF has the best ratio of students to faculty.

ADA ranks UCSF the best for clinical productivity among all public dental schools in the US and number two among all dental schools in the US.

UCSF ranked first in NIH research funding among all US dental schools.

Thousands of patients visit the UCSF dental school every year.

While the Gourman report is barely considered reliable when it comes to ranking dental programs, the last time dental schools were ranked, UCSF came in at number 2 behind Harvard. The Univ. of Pacific came in at 30. Even other Ivy League Schools are ranked below UCSF. Now keep in mind, this ranking should not be the only factor in choosing a school, but if you are indifferent on all the factors, may be this will tip the balance.

Good luck and I hope this was of some help.

Hai,
I have attended interview in both the schools, but I liked UOP more when compared to UCSF.I liked program in uop because It is well organised as it had been started long before .My personal opinion is it doesn't matter much which school you graduated from ,ultimately we want a degree to practce......right.In that case I think i prefer the school which is much cheaper. If I were you,I would have chosen UOP.

grass on the otherside is always greener.......

One thing to keep in mind is that if one has been accepted at more than one school, to release the seat at the school where one will not be attending. There are many people on alternate lists who are dying to know how many people will turn down an acceptance so that they can move up the pecking order.

So I hope you decide which school to go to without pulling your hair out. The other thing to keep in mind is that since you have gone to both schools whether what matters to you is the cost of education, quality of education or just plain which one will get me a DDS as soon as possible without breaking the bank.
