Confused...Help!

So I took AAMC 10. One thing I could not understand...on the PS section i got 45/52 but only scored an 11....yet an earlier practice I took and got 38/45 and got a 10 ( that was BS section)...got 7 more questions correct and only got 1 more point? I expected atleast a 12. Can anyone shed some light on this?

You were probably on the upper limit of a 10 and lower limit of 11.
