I've read a couple other posts but none have a clear answer. Can someone who took the test already answer what is necessary to put in orders for the last 2 minutes.

There are times when the patient is still in the ICU or just finished surgery and the cases ends. Should we leave IV meds and lines, etc in? Or do we put in to discontinue lines and switch to PO meds and assume the software understands we want this done in the future?

Or is the last 2 minute screen just for putting in counseling orders?

I hate this software, so glad to be done with it in 2 days.

I'm still waiting on my result so can't say much...but my understanding is that 2min screen is where/how the patient is at present time. So if the patient is unstable clinically you should leave all orders that are necessary as is. No need to put in future change in meds/routes. Now if the patient comes to ER and you treat them accordingly in proper setting and on interval hx they feel better (no nausea, vomiting), vitals stable...and then all of the sudden 2min screen pops up because you met all goals, this is a scenarios where you may get them ready to discharge by switching them over to oral meds on 2min screen.

In reality, you won't have time for all this (partly due to the annoying lag in ordering screen)...I'd suggest concentrating on ADDING any major management you may have missed during the previous 8 or 18 mins and quickly adding generic counseling and perhaps a flu shot. Goodluck!

To add to this --- I never placed more than 1 or two orders on a single CCS case (due to the laggy nature of it and the exhaustion from 2 days). Still scored 236, CCS was my highest. I was not a champ here, just a psych resident with no great IM experience to boot. I wouldn't worry too much about the 2 minute screen.

2 orders on that 2 minute screen. To clarify.

Disordered Doc, How many of your cases end early? Did you make a mistake or not order the appropriate test on some of your cases?
I just took the test and I feel like I missed a lot of things and about a third of the patients were not getting better.

Nearly all of them ended early. Perhaps a couple of the short ones did not? I must have made mistakes here and there as I did not score perfectly, but I was safely in the middle between high performer and well above borderline performance when all was said and done. There were a couple cases I blew, my first one mostly due to nerves I think, and another case come to mind especially. Some of them aren’t graded as they are “trial cases”. Sometimes I wouldn’t progress the case along fast enough to see a patient get better. Sometimes just minor improvements occueees and like I said... I was happy with my score. I posted my score breakdown on another post here in this forum, check it out if you like.

Hey there, how do you know that some of these cases arent graded because they are "trial" cases?
