Hi Everyone!

I have a few queries and It would be great if any of you could clarify them for me. By the way, I am an Indian dentist planning on taking the computer test of the NBDE part A in August this year.

I need help with these buddies!

1) I believe I can only take the iBt TOEFl in the US henceforth. But, I am unable to find available seats in any of the centres in Manhattan(that's where I live, and the nearby areas.....What do I do?

2)I want to get this straight....can anyone tell me what the complete sequence of taking the Boards, TOEFL, ECE and application procedures is?
Like for instance.....does it go this way
a)take NBDE part A, ece(I already recieved the report-3.88
,TOEFL
b)apply to universities
c)take NBDE part B(this is what I am confused about-is this exam taken before joining the program/interview or what????)

3)Randomly going through all the threads in this forum I have figured out that the usual universities candidates apply to are
Boston Univ
Nyu
Buffalo
UPenn
Ucla
Could anyone list out more universities to me

4)Why isn't there any threads posted regarding Columbia university?

A pretty Big Confusion huh????

1) Please read carefully about Licensure for International dentists by clicking the following link:

There is a list of d. schools offering advanced standing program for INt. dentists. Please check with each school website regarding it's admission requirement/procedure.

2) Your sequence is correct Evaluation/NBDE I/TOEFL/ Application to schools.
Howevr NBDE II is not an application/selection criteria for most of the schools.

3) Most of threads you come across are about schools accepting max. no. of candidates. The space based Columbia U accepts 2-4 candidates each year. Very few people are called for interview.

hi,
About your query regarding the TOEFL exam, i would suggest u to change the location for your test ,Even i had taken my test in a different city than i live in, coz they did not have the dates i desired.
It doesnt really matter where u take ur test.Hope this helps

Thanx Rahmed, Dentusa and Doc...that was great help. I registered for the TOEFL. My testing center is in Philadelphia, and I will be taking the test this friday.
