I m shruti, 3rd yr student from cims, bsp, chhattisgarh, india (exam giving batch)
i have a deep inbound feeling of practicing in us. i am also an aspirant of usmle...but, i am doubtful whether i should start in that direction or just prepare as a regular student for clg exms and later on go for all india neet pg entrance exam.
Coz, the internship schedule is so hectic and rigid in our clg that it appears that it is impossible for the clg to give permission for doing electives at some other place like,..us (looking in the past record, as no student has ever, to the best of my knowledge, has ever taken such a long leave for this purpose )and second of all, what is more important that even if i get permission for electives, the bigger hurdle is that we have a binding 2 year rural service which is a compulsion for every pass out student, which needs 25 lakh to be aborted,??? quite a lot of money, chhattisgarh's rural service bond is restricting me....plus, i should mention here also pondering all over these things for months and years, i also haven't begun my preparation for any exam...neither for my univ (home) exams nor step 1(nothing not even purchased step1 study material, so on...), as result of this dilemma.
So, seeing my circumstances, should i stop wishing and just do what others do? Or is there a way out...i can approach?
Plus i think i have passed the crucial time of studying and prep for step1.....as iwould've to start in my final yr....which scares me as already in this yr we have a lot to complete i.e. The final year syllabus???? thus i am doubtful that i wont b able to give time for usmle and even if give time, i think that would affect my univ results of final yr.
So pls anyone guide me...
