[FONT=맑은 고딕]I had to be really careful on my PS after my unsuccessful application last year. I spent lots of time to polish and get feedback on my PS and finally e-submitted. I hope I can hear good news in this year..

[FONT=맑은 고딕]I applied for 20 schools b/c now I know a couple hundred dollars are less painful than a whole year..

please wish me best luck!

Best of luck to you my fellow SDNer! May I ask how you've improved your PS? You mentioned you had some feedback. Who read yours? When I applied last year, I only had mum and dad read mine. This cycle, I was just going to send in the same PS but then I got some friends and profs to critique it.

Posts like this make me feel better about being in the second mail-out batch.

Congrats? I think the whole e-submission is kind of anticlimactic; I mean, I did it a few weeks ago, but... nothing has changed? 😉 I'm sure plenty out there are still waiting on mailing dates, LOEs, GPAs, etc as well, e-submitted or not. 🙁

Anyway, maybe you'll luckily fall into the next mailing batch with everything done in a snap! :xf:

Is your gpa not where you want it to be? I recall you doing phenomenally on the dat.

Mom and Dad are biased 😀 my mom always loves my PS. I reworte from scratch. I am in SF, so I could visit UCSF and realized they kept my last year's application, which means it's not gonna be a good idea to submit last year one.
I had my friends, dentists I've shadowed and assisted for a year, my mom's friends look at mine several times.

Way to go! I hope you get some interviews. I'm just about ready to do the same thing.

The one you saw might be my second one that I recently took. I applied with my first one, AA 20. I took all pre-requisite courses at CC, and my extracurricular activities were just ok. my GPA was 3.45 sGPA 3.65. I've improved my application quite a lot in many aspects. Hopefully, I can get in this year!

seems like a 20 is a pretty solid DAT if you ask me... if that was your old score, what is your new score? Congratulations on submitting again!

I know you weren't asking me but if it helps, get the people who are writing your LOE's to read your PS. It's sometimes hard to see if your own words are coherent after reading it over and over so many times. Unlike you, your reader won't fill in the blanks and would only have your words to figure out what you're trying to say w/o making any assumptions. Your reader can be a fresh pair of eyes. Have your dentist, professors, advisors, and other professionals read critique it if it's possible. Hope this helps!

did u go SF CC? and how did you find out if UCSF keeps last years application? dont you have to do the secondary all over?

Wow, your old stats were not too bad at all. I remember you getting a 25 or something on the DAT this time around? I'm sure you'll get in this year - but I dont know why you didn't make it last year.

Thanks for the suggestions my freind, that's EXACTLY what I did this time around. Pretty much spammed everyone with my PS and got some harsh criticisms (which I appreciated) and then some positive ones (which didn't help me much!). I remember asking an arts prof to read it, and he said it was too fluffy haha....you'd think he was a science prof.

good luck evanyou 🙂 I hope you get into the dental school of your choice, especially with all the improvements you've made in a year.

Thank you for encouraging words. I feel like you are always on my side🙂

With 15 interviews, I know I am gonna bomb half of them.

With your good attitude, and phenomenal scores, how can you not be on your side? Congrats again on your achievement!

It's because he, who scored higher than me, is applying to more schools than me, which makes me worried.

Don't worry, he can only get into one school
