One more weeks vacation for me.

Internal Medicine next wednesday. Good luck, guys

Started on Monday, but I hit the floors of Surgery today. The morning was one of my more frustrating mornings. No idea where to go, no idea who to talk to, everyone was so busy and couldnt eplain things. I finally got a pt, and spent hours trying to figure out when they were going to the OR today, reading about them, more figuring out timing, more reading, and the whole time running around like a nut and freaking out.

3pm I finally scrubbed in on a case, and from that moment until I left around 6:45 were the ~4 most exhilirating hours of my medical school career. Gotta go do some reading now.

I started my rotations on June 22. Medicine is my first rotation. So far so good. 🙂

Good luck, you guys! I'll be joining you all Aug first, since I'm taking vacation as my first rotation 😛

Actually, I look forward to being right there in the middle of it all with the rest of you. 🙂

and, Idiopathic: no scaring the small children 😉

I start July 12 with Family Medicine....

Followed by Internal Medicine, then Pediatrics to end the semester

Can't wait

You guys are so lucky you get to start already. We don't start our rotations until Sept 1st! Our school is making us do this summer session on ethics, patient interviews, "how to scrub into surgery 101", etc. I just wish we could get started already. Everyone is so burned out after boards we don't want to sit in class all day- and they are still giving us exams pass/fail, such nonsense.

Yes, I had 32 patients my second day...thankfully, I could do very little harm. I did learn a lot, however...like how to make your patients wait 1.5 hours while you take a few phone calls and try to fix your e-mail 🙄
