Ok, so I may have just gotten offered a weird, 3 week internship on capitol hill. I'll pry have to leave tomorrow or the next day, if I want to take it. Here's the question though, should I stay and collect 40 more hours of clinical volunteering or should I leave and do the cool House internship? I don't have any more clinical volunteering officially lined up, so it might be some time before I get any more, which leaves me at 160 hours until further notice. What does everyone think?

capitol hill.

Better get that right if you end up going to work there 😉 Anyway, I say go for the internship. It's a pretty cool and unique opportunity and 160 hours is already a good amount of clinical volunteering hours.

Internship. No question. And I'm willing to bet that it will be the most asked about thing at interviews because it is novel compared with everything else. It makes you so much less cookie cutter.

I submitted all of the materials that they asked of me. Hopefully nothing will go wrong and I'll be on my way to D.C.! Thanks everyone for their responses! I appreciate the advice.

Go for the internship! This type of EC is rare. Maybe you can smack some sense into Paul Ryan while you're at it. You can always get in more clinical volunteering in the future.

This will actually be pretty cool because, if I get it, I will go immediately from an internship in the House to an internship with my state's palliative care advisory council to the governor. I'm definitely going to be getting some interesting exposure to government.
