I took Step 1 July 26th and my permit link disappeared today (18 days post exam). I've been expecting results on Wednesday August 15th anyways, so the permit disappearing probably does suggest I'm getting my result in two days.
I've been looking at forums since the wait is killing me and there are still people trying to figure out whether the permit link disappearance means anything beyond getting scores, like passing the test? Does anyone have any idea? Are there people whose permit links disappeared yet they failed Step 1? Like first hand experience, not "I heard there was someone" kind of thing.
