Say I decide to void on June 18th-

The only consequence will be I lose my $250 and can only take it 2 more times in 2009, correct?

The med schools won't see "June 18th MCAT = void" or anything will they?

No I don't believe they would. However, why would you want to void? I would want to know how I've done so that if rewriting becomes necessary, weak areas can be targeted, si? But I suppose it's always better to have a clean slate than a blemished report card. But personally, I would die of curiosity.

I would only void if I ran out of time or somehow got unlucky and got 100% topics I hate and KNOW I bombed it.

The main reason is I don't want to have a sub-30 mcat on my record if I have to retake (since they'd avg the 2 scores).

You haven't even taken the exam yet. Thinking about voiding it, or cancelling, or getting a sub-30 before you've even taken the exam can hurt you. Its a psychology thing. Just think about mercilessly beating the crap out of it and don't think about the other stuff unless you have to.

Do not void unless you get sick. You are already taking the test fairly late and it would be a mistake to set your application back further. You can always retake.

But if you retake you're not only putting yourself a year behind, you're making it harder on yourself since they avg the 2 scores. Sucks either way I guess! lol

Haha this is such a good point...thanks. I always seem to do this for exams its horrible...

Ex) "OH NO what if I fail!!?!?" then things turn out 100x better than I expect..

I thought starting this June any voids would be reported along with scores. Could be making that up but I thought I read it on here somewhere.😕

Haha that was quite the mean joke back in april!

Your post made me smile though thank haha...breathe easy- voids are the same I believe

lol well I guess that serves me right for slacking on my SDN reading. 😛
Never double-checked if that was true b/c I probably wouldn't void either way since I'd want to see my score and hope that I would never have to study for this crap again!
