I disagree. The majority of people that want updated tallies are players. I was thinking of making this a thing in future games that your vote doesn't count unless you update the tally at the same time.

it's time consuming for the mod and doesn't benefit the mod much.

In some games, I barely have time to squeak in a vote as a player, don't have time to dig for a tally and update it. I don't sign up for that as a player. I sign up to participate in game convo and figure out the game. When I mod, I consider that one of my responsibilities, if the players want a current tally, they are free to make one, but I consider it my responsibility to tally the lynch and post a final lynch tally at the end. But to each their own.
 
I don't know if it's that crazy of a role/responsibility. In the last game zensing was doing the write-ups (some? Or all? I wasn't following that too much), so I don't see tallying as that wild.
 
AFTER TODAY:

Deadlines will be strictly at 8 am est for night actions and 9 pm cst for lynch cycles.

As a final aside, b/c I keep getting asked this. If you haven't explicitly been told you are a wolf/chaos/neutral/lone wolf/etc. Then you are a villager.
 
Yeah, and I mean giving everyone a role in these bigger games means some abilities are going to be, um, unimpressive in some way. Which I get that it's an effort to get everyone to stay active, but I do miss me some pure vanilla gonado days. haha

Bolded stuff doesn't show up on the mobile app, at least on my phone. Worse, it cuts off stuff after the bolded app.

I once played an entire game (just a game or two ago) entirely on my phone .... I kept insisting my role worked a certain way in the main thread, and I was being "honest" in the sense that I genuinely believed it. Turned out there was more to my role, but because part of it had been bold font, I never saw it.

The app is stupid. The fact that they don't fix something basic like that is bizarre.

Man, I hate using it (or most other sites) on mobile browser because of that, so much so that I got the app and just suffer through the little glitches and quirks instead. 😛 of course I never really use mobile or app versions anyway unless I really have to. Also one of the only good things about the app is the push notifications, but I eventually had to turn them off completely because for some reason the options don't work like they should so I get separate notifications for every. single. new post. on a subscribed thread. instead of just for pings/PMs/quotes and such like I want. :grumpy:

Tallying votes does seem pretty odd for a role. I guess I can see it as plausible in this case...but what more is there to it? Any consequences for not tallying?

For me, it started out as mostly a joke - from WZ saying "vote for me on Day 1" last game. But if her role ability is really just to tally votes ...... I'm ok with potentially losing that role. And it sounds slightly sketchy to me that that would be the entirety of her role. Might be more something like "tally votes, and as a wolf you get to futz with the results once during the game" or something.

Very <slim> chance, but it seems just weird enough to me that I'm happy to roll with it. Especially for a day 1 lynch.

It was more a thought from those that just put in the vote without any original thought behind it. And it read from stls write up that everyone has some sort of consequence, so I wonder what will happen if he has to tally starting day 2. Lol
 
And somewhat from a standpoint that quickly jumping on this lynch closes down discussion. I have zero clue what is going on in this game right now other than a calculator seems to have the job of a mod.

I know you're kinda joking, but ... that is sorta part of my thinking. I mean, it's a craptastic role to give someone. If I got it, I would drop out of the game. Not in an angry huff or something, but there's just no way I could do that time-wise. So it makes me wonder what STL gave her to balance it out. It could potentially be a nifty little role to give a wolf: "You have to tally, but in exchange, you can 'goof it up' once and miscount...."

No, I'm not joking. I feel the same. I definitely don't have time to do that. I'm kinda scared that stl may have given WZ a crazy consequnce to put on us because he foresaw the fact we would lynch her in a hot second.

Didn't even leave anything out because I honestly just don't care. You want to lynch me? Fine. You lose a villager. I could maybe have messed with the tallies if I hadn't immediately had to out that as my ability, but at this point, I wouldn't have any fun with it anyway, because duh, you'd know it was me. So. Carry on.
