Just got an email from case western saying they will decide my application for a spring interview, and i'l be prompted again in December to see if I would like them to possibly extend me an interview in spring.... What is happening..

Yes, it means you're waitlisted for an interview.
No, you may not already know where you're gonna be by the spring.
This is better than a rejection.
