Hi all,

I am starting to really stress out with the AADSAS deadline approaching. I just want to know if I'm a decent applicant because I have no clue.

Engineering major
DAT: 21AA/25PAT
GPA: 3.59 (not really sure how to calculate my science GPA b/c I'm biomedical engineering)
3 semesters of research
200 hours of shadowing
75 hours community service

I'm worried because I kind of switched my career goals from engineering to dental late in the game, so it doesn't look like I've been seriously into dental all of my undergrad.

Thanks

Schools don't care about "how long" you've wanted to become a dentist. They care about your passion and why you believe it's the best career option for you. And stats wise you're in good shape.

In my opinion you have a competitive application and should get interviews invites

You'll be fine. You have great stats and lots of shadowing hours. I'm a non-trad entering d-school 7 years after graduating undergrad - and I had these concerns too - just convey in your personal statement how your engineering background will make you a great dentist (analytical problem solver, attention to details, whatever) and how you know it's the path for you. It could come up in interviews but if you're excited about dentistry you'll handle it well.
