They ask for both Science GPA which is all science courses you have taken in those 4 years and plus overall GPA which includes all science and non-science classes you have taken at your university.

I am sorry but I am confused 😕 can you be more clear on what you are trying to say please?

You need to do a 2 year advanced training program for international dentists if you are indeed a foreign trained dentist, NOT a traditional 4 year program.

Let me try to understand you better, you have a dental degree from out of USA right? Well there are many dental schools in the USA that accept international dentists in their 2-3 year USA programs. This is a MUCH easier path for you to obtain your DDS/DMD from USA..... well I shouldn't say "easy", its extremely competitive as you can imagine

What you are asking for is the typical 4-year DDS programs that WE (undergrad students) try to get into. This is would be a lengthy process for you because you have to go back to college (in USA) and take your pre-reqs (general biology, general chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, english composition, and maybe Biochemistry and microbiology) AND THEN take the DAT test. They are going to treat you just like a typical pre-dental student. This could take you anywhere from 2-3 years and many schools require at least 90 credit hours in college, thats almost the equivalent of a bachelors degree............ And to answer your question, for this process, they want to know the undergrad GPA (meaning USA undergrad GPA). So if you haven't taken any courses in the USA, your GPA is nothing

Short answer = yes

You are going to be treated like you don't have a dental degree.

My cousin got his dental degree from Iraq back in the late 1980s. He came to USA in 1995, spent about 1 year studying for NBDE-1 on his own and rocked a 96%. He got accepted into Detroit Mercy's 3-year international dentist program in 1997. Became DDS in 2000.... From what I remember, this was the first year for Mercy to switch their international program from 2 years to 3 years.

My understanding is, these international programs like to see applicants do well on step-1. However, the last dentist I shadowed, is also international dentist, he got 79% on his step-1 and got into New York back in 2000, he got his dental degree in 2003 and been practicing ever since.
