Has anyone received contact from the programs following the interview or comments during the interview that suggest the program liked you/plans to rank you highly? Just wanted to see if this is done at any EM programs.

I received a positive follow-up email from one PD. It was perfectly legal, without any specifics about ranking or whatever.

About 75% of the PD's where I interviewed sent me letters or emails. All of them mentioned things they liked about me, how they thought I would fit well into their program, and how they looked forward to the match process. None guaranteed a position or made mention anything about where I would be ranked.

Interesting. I haven't heard from a single PD yet. I've had some good feedback during the interview but no other contact yet. When did you hear from them?

My program doesn't send out post-interview feedback... don't let the lack or presence of communication ever EVER dissuade your ROL!

That being said, I often emailed the PD's a few days after each interview... about half the time I would get a strong email back that gave good feedback and a hint of my rank compared to other applicants.

I have sent many thank you letters (via snail mai to the PDs after interviews and have yet to hear anything back at all. All of my interviews have been extremely poker-faced, thank you for coming, if you have any questions, etc etc. Very difficult to read. Especially since I am a DO student, and all of my classmates are getting calls and emails from the osteopathic programs this time of year about their rank, etc. Frustrating!

what programs have contact you? Just so we have an idea of programs that provide follow contact. Me none so far.

The only e-mail I received from a PD was a mass e-mail thanking all the interviewee's from that week... so that doesn't count.

In other words, I haven't heard S#!$.

Only 2 of my interviews were in December. So I heard from all programs in January and February. Relax, it's too early to hear from them right now.

got 1 message on my answering machine from a resident from 1/8 programs at which i have interviewed. another i got a call from a resident i already knew. so basically nothing here either.

I just got a Christmas card from a resident essentially thanking me for a thank you note. Now the only question is should I send a thank you note for the thank you note thanking me for the thank you note. 😀
