Just out of curiosity, has anyone tried contacting their top ranked program after the ROL due date to see if they get any indication as to where they're ranked?

Wouldn't change anything in terms of the match, but if you did go there for residency then it might be a bad first impression.

Good point, that hadn't crossed my mind before.

Haven't done it... won't do it... but secretly dream of telling the PD, "So, rank lists are in. I ranked you #1, just like I said... since everything's pretty much set in stone now, you might as well tell me what my chances are."

~error404 either lacks balls or has common sense, but isn't sure which

I got news that I passed my step3. Should I contact my top choices and let them now? Not that it will change anything. Just to make them feel warm and fuzzy inside thinking what a wonderful candidate will potentially join their program 🙂

Wait the two weeks until you match and then you can just inform a single program of the fact. It simply makes no sense to contact multiple programs with this update.
