Contacting Programs

Hi everyone,

For those on the interview trail - I wish you lots of luck!

I was wondering what is recommended about contacting programs - I already have some interviews lined up but would like to hear back from some other programs before my schedule gets too full. My school doesn't provide much information about this so I was wondering if anyone could help.

Is it rude to call? Email? Regardless, what do you say? I just got my step 2 ck score so I figured that could be something to say- "I'm just calling to tell you I got my score and I'm still interested in your program".... something like that? Or do nothing and just let them get back to me when they get back to me?

I spoke with my advisor about that and she said that's fine. Afterwards I contacted a program basically saying I'm really interested and then sucked up a little bit saying how great I thought the program was. Their response was here is your interview. So I would recommend doing it, worse case it does nothing.

And if you called, what time did you end up calling..

hmmmm....I was told by a friend of mine to call as well- but when I called in early October, some programs were like 'we are still looking at applications'..... So even I'm confused as to whether or not to call.....
