Contemplating taking a leave of absence from SMP..... How would it look on the application

Hey guys,

I am contemplating taking a leave of absence. I talked with my adviser and she said that she will talk with the registrar and allow me to take a leave of absence and allow me to come back next year and basically just audit the classes (for like $100 instead of the 45k for the semester) which seems appealing to me.
She went on to mention that it will appear on my transcript that I took a leave of absence but it really wouldn't affect the admissions committees decision... Is that true ? I have heard from other areas on the internet that admissions committees look down on that. What do you guys think ?
