It seems the general consensus is not to draw attention to negative aspects of our application; however, my early academic history is so obviously bad that an ADCOM would NOT miss it.

For context here is a screenshot of my trend:

Part of me wants to control the narrative and address my academic mishaps wherever I can. I feel like I have drafted an excellent essay that focuses on the positive aspects of my academic journey: self-reflection, personal growth, resilience, and a strong upward trend. Overcoming my poor academic performance is a large part of who I am; I truly feel like it has made me a more humble and empathetic human being. THIS is what I want ADCOMS to know.

I would appreciate outside input from anyone! I would be more than happy to share my "academic discrepancies" essay as well.

@Goro You were a huge inspiration for me early on in my "reinvention" journey. I honestly don't know if I would have ever pursued this profession if you didn't give me hope that it was possible; now, I can't imagine doing anything else with my life. What are your thoughts (if you're able to comment on essay content)?

That's not an upward trend... it is a downward trend and an impressive and sustained jump. There is a story there and you should tell it. Obvioiusly, like Dorothy and the ruby slippers, you had the capacity within you all along; what prompted you to change, what changed, and how do you see yourself going forward from here given the lessons learned?
