After a serious delay due to writer's block, I'm mere sentences away from finishing up my personal statement, reviewing my AMCAS, and submitting it and having a nice cold beverage. Probably a Coke. But at any rate, my question is this...

Do you think that, anywhere in the personal statement, there should be a clear statement that somehow says "I wanna be a doctor?" Maybe not in so much words, but looking back, I'm not sure I even used the word "doctor" in my personal statement at all. What I have tried to do is give the indication that I want to do what's best for my patients, "make a difference," comfort them, give them what they need and so on and such and so forth, etc. I've done this by relating experiences I've already had as an EMT and a tutor and TA.

Just wondering what other people thought; if my question/concern is even clear.

Have a great day, folks.

No, I think if you wrote what you described, it's pretty clear you want to be a doctor. Don't obsess too much! 👍 :luck:

Too late! This forum doesn't make it much better, either!

Thanks for your support.
