SO im at the very start of my studying, and was curious to know if any of you non trads have spent a significant amount of time starting off with content review.

For example i took physics ( and other pre reqs) about 7 years ago. i started review two days ago and i'm honestly moving at a snails pace....

in nervous because i have a feeling physics and chem. is going to go like this.....i can prob. get through bio and orgo. quicker.

anyone else out there deal with this?

im worried i will forget what i studied in the beginning when i'm a few months down the road finishing content review.

I feel like it would be a waste of time to do questions without having the content nailed. I'll be starting soon and I took physics and chem over a decade ago, so I'm in the same boat. I think the SN2ED mixes up review for different subjects, and practice questions so you're doing content review and practicing questions in the various subjects every couple days so you don't go too long without working on a particular subject. It's been awhile since I've looked at his plan, but if you haven't checked it out, you might want to head on over to the MCAT forum and spend some time checking things out. Some great tips.

I took a really long time with physics, slightly less time with chem, and breezed through bio. I think something like SN2ed's guide is helpful in that it suggests rotating through the subjects so you keep it fresh, but if you're weaker in some subjects than others then it may not be as efficient to treat all subjects equally. I would suggest using the practice problems wisely during your studying. After the initial full content review, instead of going through all the BR practice problems after each topic, start with say.. every third question (I think that's what SN2ed suggests too). That way, you're practicing with some MCAT based passages right after content review, but you're leaving 2/3 of the practice problems to come back to later to reinforce/refresh those topics after you've already moved on to another subject. Does that make sense?

My physics and chem were a dozen years old and so I did a Kaplan review course. It worked for me to have the structure since I was working full time while preparing for the MCAT.
