I'm not sure this post will gain any traction as I'm an old fart a decade out from training, but AM's forums aren't really what they used to be and I'm not sure where else to post this.
I wanted to see if anyone had experience with the Continuing Certification Exam that you have to take 10 years after finishing training.
For residents, basically once you're out the ABR has you do this thing called the Online Longitudinal Assessment (OLA). I didn't take it seriously and lost a lot of questions before they expired (they leak out 2 questions a week and then they expire after 3 weeks, so just doing all of your questions for the year in one sitting isn't possible; it's a slow drip and easy to lose track of, especially if your work schedule isn't consistent).
As a result of my inattention, I have to take the CCE in November. It's a full day exam that you take from home that seems like a mini version of the writtens (you pick 4 subspecialties), but info online about it is pretty vague.
Hoping to see if any older rads had wisdom to share. In particular wanted to know if physics was on the exam. I called the ABR to ask, and they had no information about the exam beyond what was described online.
In any case, feeling a bit like a fish out of water with this. I'm in private practice so the academic support network I had as a resident isn't there anymore. None of my colleagues were silly enough to screw up their OLA like me, so kind of just doing this solo. Any advice would be appreciated.
