I was looking into continuing education, esp. for ortho as I'm about to graduate soon and want to get as much knowledge as possible when I'm out there. I can't believe I'm about to graduate!

I was really looking at ortho as it seems like a good supplement in these economic times. I heard from a few dentists about the comprehensive program at Progressive Orthodontic Seminars (POS). Have any of you taken it, by chance? I may want to visit their classes or go to a free Intro class.

I heard that they have a great orthodontic software included and their insturctors help with case diagnosis. Not too cheap, but I hear worth every penny?

Thank you for your help. It is much appreciated. 😀

are you going to open your practice right after school ? In my opinon, most owners will most likely not allow you to do ortho case for liability reason. If you leave their practice, they will be stuck with your ortho cases. I will not allow my associates touching any of ortho case at all. If you're planning to work for somebody else, save your money now and take CE class later in your career.

for ortho CE class, Academy of GP Ortho has several 2 years CE courses throughout the country. You should check them out. It's s 2 year, hand-on and treating live patients CE courses. Combining this with several other ortho appliances, TMD and occlusion CE classes, I'm pretty much able treat most cases coming to my office.
