what are your thoughts on signing a residency training contract with the wording that you will be under evaluation for 6 months at which time they may terminate you without cause if they feel you are not up to par?? is this normal? are your contracts for the academic year worded this way? should i be worried? if anyone has any experience or insight on this matter i would appreciate it🙂

Was this resident on probation? Maybe other people may have some other thoughts but to my knowledge, a training contract is for the whole academic year. But they reserve the right to terminate you if you are endangering your patients.

This is not in any normal residency contract I have seen.
I have the same question as above. Was the person on probation?
If not on probation, then perhaps the residency has had general problems with interns it has taken in the past, and now is paranoid and wants to leave itself an out to get rid of folks at 6 months if they are not up to par.
