Will conversions be provided on the General Chemistry and QR sections or do I need to memorize them?? For instance, 1mile=1.6km, 1qt=0.946L etc. etc??

Anybody know this??

So, in general a student have to ask for stuff such as srcatch paper and so forth? is there a list of what you can or cannot have..?

Basically all you can have is scratch paper (or some centers give you a dry-erase board with marker now), a pencil (or marker in the dry-erase case), and noise-blocking headphones... All of which are provided by the center. You cannot bring anything else with you into the room; you can't even bring in a bottle of water or an extra sweater -- they tell you that you must keep on everything you go in with. Personally, I recommend a zip-up, that way if you get hot, you can at least un-zip 😉

I hope you have a choice between scratch paper and a dry-eraser maker.. that scent alone in those marker is enough to make you high!.. and besides i could use the scratch paper to guide me through the paper folding and hole punching sections(if thats legal..lol)

You don't have a choice - a center will usually either offer one or the other. But, you can always call centers in advance to find out which they offer - Also ask if they have flat screen monitors, bc the old curved screens are horrible for the PAT... and those scrolly things on the mouse don't hurt either 😉

Good luck!

I should also add, that if you know you're going to be taking the test at the center that only provides dry-erase boards, I think it is a wise idea to get your very own dry-erase board and take practice tests with it (obviously you can't take this board into the actual DAT with you).

Haha.. thanks. Just glad I can help! 🙂
I took mine at Livingston St in Brooklyn, which I have to say was kind of out the way for me. But I knew that center gave out scratch paper instead of the dry-erase boards, and they had brand new computers, so it was definitely worth it to me.
Make sure and call anyways if you choose that center, because I took mine in Nov and there's no way or knowing whether or not they changed what they offer since then.
Good luck!

so im guessing the 3 centers in the city dont offers paper!.. I am not taking my test till june.. i hope they dont up and change their ways!... NOW-- do they really give you a conversion table??? since they are so giving, they should just throw in a calculator.. 🙂

Umm, yeah, don't guess.. Call the centers!! To be honest, I didnt hear the best things about the Manhattan centers - nothing horrible, but just stories about people getting yelled at for putting their fingers or a pencil upto the screen, or also that they didn't have flat screen monitors at the time... and I heard the Livingston center was a little bit more laid back and also more technologically upto date so I went there. I actually don't think I ever asked them about paper/dry-erase boards.
As for the conversion table - they don't give you one. If they think you're going to need to do a conversion they'll give it to you in the question. I vaguely remember having that in my QR section. The only thing you get is the paper/pencil or board/marker.
When are you taking the test anyways?
