Is it wrong for MD's to work towards being rich or is that an inherent conflict of interest? I personally think that as long as you're ethical and serving your patients there's nothing wrong with it. It just seems like in order to make tons of money as a doctor, something will suffer. In the case of Dr. Frist it was his practice of medicine all together...

You might want to change your thread title. I mean, of course he's a 'true MD.' He went to medical school and graduated -- thus receiving his MD.

It's wrong to work toward being rich when "being rich" necessitates Medicare fraud to the point where your company (Columbia) gets hit with a 1.7 billion dollar fine causing the reputation of your hospital system to be damaged so much that they have to change its name back to HCA just to avoid being associated with the crime.

As for Bill Frist's actions as a senator, I believe that he sold all of his holdings shortly before the stock plunged. If that's how you get to be "rich" as a doctor, I'd rather be poor.

Oh, you know what I mean!!!!!!! I can't change the title anyway. I'm just sooooooo bored at work today so I've gone on a thread-making spree.

Haha -- I know dude. I was just giving you a hard time -- because I am, also, bored at work. Cheers to that!
