Cool feature on dentistry and technology

I just found this link prominently displayed on Apple.com. There is a three-page article and video. Very cool!

Everything about that office is cool: the layout, the cool gadgets, and new ideas.

But I wonder how much of it is just technology for the sake of technology? I mean does the patient really need a bound booklet with pictures of their teeth?

There's another article in the apple site for using systemax to visualize roots at UCSF.

That's what I am talking about!! I was a computer programmer before I decided that I should be a dentist. I love to see how technology can improve dentistry. I don't think a patient needs a bound booklet of their teeth per se, but this type of technology will make patients feel more control over what is going on in their mouth.

I think the bound booklet is a bit much...but maybe if they could digitize the booklet into an ibook that was fully interactive and could be downloaded onto my ipod...then I might find it useful.

Nobody NEEDS a bound booklet, but if they want one and it's that easy to make one that's pretty sweet!

Also, I love your avatar! Zim was awesome.
