Did not see a thread on this or much info on the forum

I will be attending this program starting June and wanted to know if anyone else on here is going or was accepted and might go here.

If anyone has any questions about the app process or is interested in the program, just let me know!

I'm also looking for advice on this program. I'm not sure if it's worth it.

Well its worth is dependent on your needs. I have okay stats and need a bit of a nudge to be in a good competitive range for med schools. So I do not think an SMP would be beneficial for me and I think Cooper's program hits the sweet spot.

You can work and do research during this program so you have time to build up your resume in the process. There are also a bunch of shadowing and mentoring opportunities that really made me want to go here. It is still a young program so they do not have a bunch of statistics that they can throw at you for placement but I think its a solid program.

Also, if you really are concerned and serious about the program just email the director of the program. He is super helpful.

Let me know if I can help you out with anything else. I will definitely be able to give more advice once I go through the program.

Hey thanks for the reply! I have average stats too that are good enough to get into DO schools.
One of the cons of the program I see is that only 4 people get an interview only if they have a 3.7 GPA.
The program seems difficult and the tuition is so much that I think it would be better to work during that time.
What I'mm hopeful for is they people who don't get the interview, I think would be accepted to other schools if they do well or maybe accepted to their DO program. What do you think? There's not a lot of things to learn from the website since it's such a new program.

Well I believe the 3.7 GPA is in the program not cumulative. It really depends on your application. if you want an MD acceptance then you'll want the extra courses but you could also just take a few at your local university and work if that is what you want to do.

From my understanding, people that do not get the interview still have a good shot at getting accepted to Cooper and Rowan for their programs. So it isn't an all or nothing program where you get the linkage or don't have a shot to get into med school. I would say if you want the structure of the program rather than doing it yourself then it is definitely worth it.

Hmmm I see what you mean. Basically like all posst baccs. If you do good, you can get a shot anywhere. However if you do bad, that's it.

How was the application process for the program? Did you get to speak with last year's students?

I did not get a chance to speak to previous year students but the process is pretty simple. Submit your app materials online and wait for an email ahahaha. They also have an auto interview pathway if your stats are high enough.

The personal statement is a bit longer than an AMCAS. It was a pretty simple process and not too many hoops to jump through.

And Good luck!!

I applied pretty late to the program and am still waiting for a reply and I was just wondering what were your stats and how is it since you are currently still in the program?
