Ok so I will be applying for the class of 2016 and I'm starting to calculate everything for my application. I will apply with a 3.3 cumulative (hopefully after my last 2 semesters in undergrad I will graduate with a 3.45). My only concern is my core or science GPA. At the time of application I've calculated it to be like a 3.0...ugh... I still have 4 of my core classes left so I'm planning on doing really well in those and that will bump it to a 3.2ish. I'm just worried about how that 3.0 looks (ie. ugly) will I submit my fall 2011 grades before interview invites go out? Ugh I am so stressed out about this! Stupid freshman year...

If you can - Kill the GRE! I've heard that really helps (I did not kill the GRE, the GRE killed me.....) Good Luck!

You will not submit your fall 2011 grades before interview invites go out. You'll submit everything up through summer 2011.

Don't write yourself off because of the GPA. Rock the GRE, write a killer PS, get amazing LORs, rack up impressive experience ... there are plenty of opportunities for you to shine and balance out the GPA.

Haha yes. I concur. From the horse's mouth, unique experiences, proven dedication, and awesome GRE'S can go a loooong way 😉

Well I have about 8000-10000 animal/vet experience hours. 3-4 really really great ELors. I'm taking the gre in may but on practice I'm averaging about a 1250-1300. I'm interning as a small animal medicine/surgery intern this summer. I have thousands of community service hours from shelters, spay and neuter clinics and vaccination clinics. I was the head assistant/ kennel manager for 3 years and now off and on on breaks and summers. My boss is helping me with my personal statement and essays and stuff. He just helped his brother wrote essays and he got into MIT, Yale and Harvard lol sp I think he can help haha..my dad has also recently taken over our family's cattle business and I'm helping him with vaccination programs and nutrition and prenatal care. I've been on the foal team at ok state where I sat up with neonates and assisted vets and students with care. I'm also currently on a mare project where my team is responsible for coaling out a mare start to finish... Do you think that's good stuff???

Yup that one too ugh lol I've got to do some more studying there haha

I'm so incredibly stressed out about applying! I can't even imagine the waiting...ugh!
