Does anyone know if a student can set up their own core rotations if they don't want to go through their college?

For instance, my college offers their core rotations but they are only in one place. Our college has a contact who we go through that sets them up for us, however, they only offer in in one location. I want to do mine in the Miami or some where else. Does anyone know of a contact whom I could get in touch with to see if they could set me up with core rotations anywhere else?

This is a question that could only be answered by someone at your specific school. Talk to the registrar or whoever about policies on rotations away from your home site.

Some Caribbean and DO schools do this I think, probably much less common on the MD side. This year a classmate of mine was able to schedule his ambulatory core in his hometown without much trouble, just a couple of conversations with the dean and the registrar. However that doc and that hospital both have pre-existing relationships with the school (the FM and OB depts have residents do aways there). I would imagine it would be a tough sell getting a third-year core at a place that isn't somehow otherwise connected to your home institution though.
