Does anyone know anything about the Cornell neuro program? Is it considered a top-10 program? Malignant or cush? Research oriented? I am very interested in their research efforts in neurodegerative diseases, but know nothing about the reputation and workings of the residency program.
Also, has anyone heard from them yet (I clearly have not)?

I did a rotation in neuropsychiatry at Cornell last month, and had a chance to round with the neurology team in the morning. The department is headed by Dr. Beal, who is well respected in the neuro field (not sure what his subspecialty is). It has a great reputation in the city and overall, a top twenty program, not quite top ten. There's some feedback by their neuro residents in scutwork.com. Seems to be a busy, but not malignant program. Just from that website and others, the particular strength of the program is neuro-oncology, b/c of their affiliation with Memorial Sloan Kettering.
And nope, have not heard from them yet.

Cornell is a well-respected program, 2nd to Columbia in NYC, top 20 overall. Most of the faculty really quite nice, awesome housing. Re: some other Manhattan programs, Sinai has quite intelligent and nice residents but a pretty onerous call schedule (worse than many IM programs) and a rather malevolent atmosphere at chairman level. NYU has good camaraderie at resident level but they're often treated poorly by the attendings. Einstein has great teaching experience, great pt population, only drawback (which may be a plus for somebody) is location in the Bronx.
