Hi
Someone twisted my arm from the inside toward the outside, my elbow dislocated, I felt my nerves loose grip on my arm for a sec
went to the ER in here in London, they first only saw a tiny fracture of the radial head but a week later they noticed a detached piece of bone : ~50% the coronoid process.
I was told that, if a coronoid process fracture is more than 50% the original bone, which is a type3 fracture then they do an operation to fix the bone back,
but in my case he said there isn't much damages of the ligaments, the elbow seems stable, the operation is difficult because :
_ they rarely get patients with coronoid fracture,
_ it's difficult to access the coronoid process,
_ it would cause more soft tissues damages
_ the piece of bone that has to be fixed back is small
so he won't do an operation
but he told my I won't fully recover my range of motion in extension and in flexion, (which is horrible)
I want to fully recover the mobility of my arm
, at least not loose so much as he described. Besides, to me it looks better to have the bone fixed back.
So I want to seek a second opinion, does the operation have to cause much soft tissues damages? do they get good results? is it risky?
I tried to post my Xrays here
