correct way of calculating AMCAS GPA

I think AMCAS may have made a mistake on my bcpm and ao gpa calculation. What is the correct way of calculating this? I figured it was just (sum(grade rec'd * credit hours)/ (Total Credit Hours 8* 4.00). What have you guys done to double check this?

AMCAS GPA = quality points/total course hours

and quality points = grade for each class*total hours for class

e.g. Bios 202 ----> A 3 sem. hrs
Bios 221-----> A- 2 sem. hrs

AMCAS GPA = [(4.00*3)+(3.7*2)]/(3+2) = 19.4/5 = 3.85
